IELPO at the 3rd SIEL Conference in Singapore

The Third Biennial Conference of the Society of International Economic Law (SIEL), which gathers leading experts on international economic law from all over the world, was hosted by the National University of Singapore on 12-14 June 2012

This conference included a Panel chaired by Dr. Ramon Torrent, the IELPO LL.M. Director, on 'The Disorder of FDIs Legal Framework: Different Approaches; Conflicting Rules'. It was composed by IELPO Professors (such as Federico Ortino from King's College London and Jürgen Kurtz from the University of Melbourne) and a former IELPO student, Ms. Weiwei Zhang, a Ph.D. candidate from the Graduate Institute, Geneva. The IELPO LL.M. Program also had a stand in the Conference where participants were able to gather any kind of information both on the IELPO LL.M. Program and its 'à la carte' Specialized Courses.

Daniela Altamirano, a former IELPO LL.M. student from the 2009-2010 academic year, also presented a poster on the 'Extraterritorial Unilateral Measures in the WTO: The EU Emission Trading Scheme as Applied to Aviation'.

Other IELPO lecturers also presented papers in this leading Conference such as Gabrielle Marceau (WTO), Roberto Echandi (WTI), Dukgeun Ahn (Seoul National University), Patrick Low (WTO) and Arthur Appleton (Appleton&Luff).
