Hoang Ngoc Thuan has been a lecturer of International Economic Relations at one of the most famous universities in Vietnam, the Foreign Trade University (FTU) since December, 2008 until now. As a teacher, he attended a great number of workshops, seminars and training courses in order to improve his knowledge. He specializes in International Economics, International Trade Policy and Theory, International Investment, International Economic Law.
Hoang hold a high distinction economic degree from the FTU (2004-2008). He was an excellent student at the FTU, and received many scholarships and awards within four years of studying. For example: the Sumitomo scholarship for excellent FTU students awarded by Sumitomo Corporation, Japan (2004-2008); "Top 10 students of the year" prize awarded by Hanoi Youth League (2007); "January Star" scholarship awarded by Vietnamese Students' Association and Vietnamese Students newspaper (2007)...
While studying at FTU, Hoang was involved in many social activities, and he was elected as President of the FTU Students' Association in 2006. He also became a member of the Executive Committee of Vietnamese Students' Association at the same time. He received the Award for the excellent contribution to the achievements of the Youth Union and the Students' Association of Vietnam for his great contributions to social activities in 2007.
Before becoming a lecturer, Hoang had a lot of work experience. In 2006, while studying, he worked as a marketing officer for FPT Corporation, the biggest Vietnamese software and computers corporation. In 2007, he also gained experience through Mid-Term Internship at General Department of Vietnam Customs about tariff, quota, certificate of origin... In 2008, he worked as a project officer for the World Bank at the Vietnamese Road Safety Project (VRSP).
Hoang is fluent in English and is learning Spanish.
