During his studies at the University, he worked as Legal Collaborator of the Corporate Legal Management of TOYOTA-DIDEA (Excel Automotriz) an Automotive Distributor, in charge of elaborating lawsuits and contracts in the civil area, and the renewal of Commercial Licenses for the Company and all the Poma Group's establishments (POMA HERMANOS, DIDEA, AUTOFACIL, among others).
After obtaining his bachelor degree, he became part of the Ministry of Economy, working as negotiator in the Directorate of Commercial Policy, being involved in Government Procurement negotiations during the Free Trade Agreement of CA4 (El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua) with Colombia and with the FTA pursued with Canada, specifically for the Services and Investment Chapters. He became coordinator of the negotiation process between the European Union - Central America and Panama Partnership Agreement, participating as adjacent and head Trade Negotiator for the Services and Establishment Chapters. Shortly after he finished the negotiating process, he was selected by the Fundación Carolina to pursue the Master of Laws in International Economic Law and Policy (LLM IELPO) in Barcelona for the 2010-2011 academic year.
Javier entered the IELPO Program in 2010 to improve and gain knowledge in International Economic Law which, in addition to the background in Services and Investment negotiations, will provide him with a complete academic background of international trade related aspects, as well as the political, economic and legal view that corresponds to these studies.
Javier speaks Spanish as native language and is fluent in English and basic Italian.
