Ivan Alonso obtained his Philosophy and History of Art degree from the Università di Venezia (Italy) in 1998. His professional career led him to international economic relations and international trade. He studied Law in the University of Barcelona and graduated in 2010.
Between 1998 to 2000 Ivan was the CEO of his family chemical company. From 2000 until 2007 after negotiating the fusion of his company with a German chemical multinational, he was the sales manager of the new holding in Southern and Eastern Europe and Latin America.
During these years Ivan lived in Malaysia for six months and a few months in Abu Dhabi, Venezuela, Russia and Germany for work reasons, where he gained valuable experience in negotiating with different cultures and difficult scenarios.
Combining both academic and professional activity Ivan has a first hand understanding of the International trade. In the last three years of his legal studies he managed an investment fund and negotiated the acquisition of three hotel properties in Jordan and Croatia among other investments.
He joined IELPO program, with the idea of engaging himself in the practice of International Economic Law, and planning to focus on international trade and settling international investment disputes.
Ivan is native speaker in Spanish, Italian and Catalan and he is fluent English, French and basic German. In his private life he is very keen on sports, his hobbies are art and cinema and he holds a passion for the sea and to sail.
