Ilmars Naglis studied Law at the University of Latvia, graduating in 2006, and has pursued finance studies at the Banking Institution of Higher Education. He worked for a Latvian subsidiary of Deloitte and joined the pan-Baltic law firm Sorainen in 2006, where he spent three years focused on corporate law, labor law and finance.
Ilmars´university achievements include representing the University of Latvia in the Central and East European Moot Competition and in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot (twice).
In 2009 Ilmars defended his master's thesis and received his master's degree and lawyer's qualification from the University of Latvia.
He has recently enrolled in the University of Barcelona´s LL.M. program on International Economic Law and Policy (IELPO) in order to pursue his interest in law and economics.
Apart from Latvian, Ilmars is fluent in English and Russian. He is currently improving his Spanish and speaks a bit of German.
