Gemma Montfort received her degree in Translation and Interpreting from the University Pompeu Frabra -Barcelona in 2006. She also took some courses on International Law, International Economics and International Relations at the same University.
In the mean time, she spent a semester in an exchange program at Universität des Saarlandes in Germany and a semester at Université de Marne-la-Vallée in France. She accomplished a final research work regarding interpreting in multi-lingual meetings.
At the end of her studies, Gemma worked in the quality department of a Spanish airline company. However, as she was interested in international economic relations and law, she was admitted to the IELPO program at Universitat de Barcelona.
Gemma is bilingual in Spanish and French , having studied in a French school in Barcelona. She is also fluent in English and German. She understands Italian and some Swedish.
Gemma is deeply interested in EU politics and economic relations as well as international organizations and in international trade and policy.
