Arlina Gómez got her Master degree in Economics from the University of Costa Rica in 2003, before that she obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Higher Studies ("Licenciatura") in Economics. She had been working for the Government of Costa Rica for the past 16 years. She has experience in several public institutions. She worked in the Legislative Assembly of Costa Rica as an advisor to Congressman Alvaro Trejos Fonseca. She also worked in the Ministry of Finance of Costa Rica as an advisor to the Minister and Vice Minister of Finance.
She has been a consultant to the Inter-American Development Bank, Economic Commission for Latin American and the Caribbean and the Central American Bank for Economic Integration.
For the past four years, she has been an advisor in the Ministry of Foreign Trade. In this institution, she participated in the FTA negotiations in progress in the Market Access Group (Association Agreement between Central America and European Union, Free Trade Agreement between Costa Rica and China).
Arlina is fluent in English and Spanish.
