Fatima Bakenova graduated from the Faculty of International Law - Almaty Law Academy Kazakh Humanitarian and Law University, which she attended from 2001 to 2006. Her professional interests lie in the field of international law and international economic relations, and she completed her thesis on "Legal Regulation of External Commercial Transactions", which was highly acclaimed by several professors of the International Law and State Examination Board. Fatima has presented her research in numerous inter-university seminars and conferences.
Fatima worked as a legal assistant in AIG Kazakhstan, where she became familiar with insurance contracts, the legal aspects of insurance and also did voluntary work,.
In 2006, Fatima worked as an intern at Halyk Bank of Kazakhstan. Her main focus during this time was civil and banking law of Kazakhstan and foreign countries, and she provided legal support of banking operations in this area.
In 2007, she joined JSC Temirbank Kazakhstan as a lawyer. Fatima dealt with civil, banking and land law of Kazakhstan and her main duties -included providing legal support and advice to the divisions of the Bank, the production of legal analyses of official documents, the drafting of loan agreements, and other legal consulting.
Fatima has always given special consideration to her education and future career. She hopes that Master degree in International Economic Law and Policy at the University of Barcelona will contribute to her professional qualifications. .While pursuing this Master's degree, she plans to focus on the issues related to International Political Economy, International Trade, and International Finance.
Fatima is native speaker of Kazakh and Russian, and she is fluent in English.
