Stella Perantakou was born in Athens, Greece. She entered the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens with the aspiration to engage with International and European law. Subsequently to her ERASMUS exchange semester at Université de Bourgogne (Sept. 2013-Jan. 2014), she returned to her home university with greater openmindedness and willingness to set her studies on an international track.

Thus, she participated in the first Trade Law Clinic of her home university, academically supervised by the Lecturer Mr. Gourgourinis. This project was a critical juncture since it incited her towards the ELSA Moot Court Competition on WTO Law (EMC2). As a representative of her university at the 14th edition of the competition, her inclination towards trade law matured. Additionally, she contributed to the successful performance of her team, which won the first place for the Oral Pleadings, and acquired the awards for the Best Written Submissions for Complainant, Respondent and Overall, at the European Regional Round in Passau. Subsequently, her team also obtained the award for the Best Written Submissions Overall at the Final Round in Geneva. Later on, she actively coordinated a research group of the 3rd Trade Law Clinic of her home university, with subject “Trade defense measures for Greek Small-Medium Enterprises”.

Before her graduation, she completed a summer internship at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic, and in particular she was occupied at the Directory of International Energy Issues and subsequently at the Legal Department of the International Treaties Office. After her graduation, she gained working experience by working as a trainee lawyer for a national law firm in Athens.

Her mother language is Greek, she is fluent in English and French, and has a good knowledge of Spanish.

She has been awarded the IELPO-ELSA scholarship in order to pursue the 2017-2018 IELPO LL.M. Programme.
