Juan Felipe Rodrigo López



Juan Felipe Rodrigo was born in Bogotá, Colombia in 1992. He attended Universidad de Los Andes in Bogotá (Colombia), where he obtained his economics degree (2015) and his law degree (2017). After graduating as an economist, he worked in his alma mater as a Graduate teaching assistant for the Economic courses, such as Introduction to the Colombian Economy and Colombian Economic History.

Before joining IELPO, Juan Felipe participated as a research assistant on a paper about the Coffee Value Chain, the Intangibles involved in the trade dynamics of the coffee for the WIPO fourth Report in 2017, and later he cofounded an e-commerce company called Andean Leathers (www.andeanleathers.com). This website is an e-commerce platform, which sells leather rugs crafted by Colombian artisans who use sustainable materials in their production, such as leather and cotton.

His business experience as well as his legal and economics education motivated him to apply to the IELPO Program. He aspires to become an international trade lawyer and make a significant contribution to the Colombian trade policy.

Juan Felipe was awarded a partial scholarship to join the IELPO LL.M. Program, 10th edition.

Juan Felipe is fluent in English and Spanish and has good working knowledge in Italian.
