Gustavo Guarín



Gustavo is a Colombian Lawyer born in Bogotá. He pursued his Bachelor Degree at "Universidad Externado" of Colombia where he was part in the WTO ELSA Moot Court Competition Team in 2012. He also holds an LLM in European and International Law from the Europa-Institut in Saarland University, Germany and a Postgraduate Certificate in Business Administration from the Australian Academy of Commerce in Sydney, Australia. 

He worked as teacher, legal assistant and monitor of Economic Law in the Economic Chamber of the legal Aid from the "Universidad Externado"(2012); as a contract manager in VMB General Air Conditioning Pty Ltd, a Sydney based Company (Australia). He also worked in Fair Trade International in Saarland (Germany) as a Promotor of the Fair Trade mark (2015) and in the World Trade Organization, in the Trade and Environment Division (TED) assisting the Committees on Technical Barriers of Trade (TBT) and the Committee on Trade and Environment (2016).

Due to his professional and academic backgrounds, Gustavo was awarded with a scholarship to join IELPO.

Gustavo's mother tongue is Spanish and is fluent in English.  He also has an intermediate knowledge of German and French.

In addition he is an active member of the NGO "la Dignidad Humana" (the Human Dignity) which advocates for young mothers in critical human rights situations in Colombia. He enjoys playing Spanish guitar, running and swimming.
