Nurgul was born in Astana, Kazakhstan. She graduated from L.N. Gumiloyv's Eurasian National University, also in Astana, with distinction in "International Law".
Before joining the IELPO LL.M. Programme, she worked at the JSC Center for Trade Policy Development under the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, established to provide consultancy and analytical support to government agencies in accession negotiations of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the WTO and other integration processes.
She started her career as an expert at the Center and currently she holds a position as a Coordinator on WTO issues. She is in charge of customs and tariff regulation issues and is responsible for the overall coordination of WTO-related work at the Center for Trade Policy Development. As part of her work, Nurgul has been engaged in bilateral and multilateral trade negotiations, most notably in the accession process of Kazakhstan to the WTO.
In the course of the last five years, she participated in a number of seminars and workshops at the WTO, including E-training courses given by the ITTC on several issues, especially the non-agricultural market access, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, technical barriers to trade, dispute settlement, regional trade agreements and other issues.
Seeking for professional improvement, she decided to join the IELPO LL.M. Programme with high expectations that the Master will offer her an excellent opportunity to get in-depth knowledge on various aspects of International Economic Law and to develop her skills for a successful career.
