Carolina Vasquez Arango is a lawyer from Colombia. She obtained her law degree from the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana (Colombia, 2001). She holds a specialist degree in Environmental Law from the Universidad Externado de Colombia (2001) and a Diploma de Estudios Avanzados (DEA), in International Studies, from the Universidad de Barcelona (Spain, 2006). Carolina is currently a PhD student at the International Law and Economics Department of the Universidad de Barcelona. In order to obtain her PhD, Carolina is carrying out a research on Colombia's participation in the WTO Dispute Settlement System from 1995.
After obtaining her law and specialist degree Carolina worked for one year at the Legal Department of a textile corporation in Colombia. Afterwards, in December 2002, she was one of the winners of the Public Merit Contest "Universidad de Antioquia Two Hundred Years" at the Faculty of Law of the Universidad de Antioquia, which secured her tenure within the Faculty as a lecturer.
Carolina Vásquez is a staff member of the Faculty of Law of the Universidad de Antioquia since April 2003, where she has been a lecturer of commercial and environmental law and a researcher in different research groups of that Faculty.
Carolina has been granted scholarships from several institutions, such as a the Fundación Carolina (Spain) in order to pursue doctoral studies (from 2004 to 2008), she was part of the WTO PhD Support Programme (from August 2007 to February 2008), and in 2008 she obtained a "IELPO Scholarship" for the IELPO LLM course 2008-2009.
Carolina received her PhD from the University of Barcelona and is currently working as a lecturer at the Faculty of Law and Political Science of the University of Antioquia (Colombia).
