Simón Hernández is a Colombian lawyer with emphasis on Trade and Commercial Law, admitted to the Colombian Bar since 2015.
He started his involvement in Law in 2011 while working as a paralegal for the former Ambassador of Colombia before the Organization of American States (OAS), Mr. Camilo Ospina Bernal. He then joined the State Council of Colombia, the 'Supreme Court of State Affairs of Colombia' as a judicial clerk.
Later on, he was attached to the Tourism, Foreign Investment and Export Promotion Office for South East Asia/Embassy of Colombia in Indonesia.
He was then hired by one of the most important law firms in Colombia 'Brigard & Urrutia Abogados' to join the Litigation, Arbitration and Insolvency Team.
Before attending the IELPO LL.M. Programme Simón worked as an associate for the corporate and litigation team in the Barrios Montenegro (previously Barrios, Velez, Gutierrez) law firm and was a Lecturer in WTO Law course at Universidad Javeriana. Simon coached the World Champion and Winning team (both All-American Regional Round and the Final Oral Round in Geneva, Switzerland) of the 14th Edition of the Elsa Moot Court Competition on WTO Law.
Simón's mother tongue is Spanish and is completely bilingual in English and fluent in Mandarin Chinese. He was also awarded with a scholarship to join the IELPO LL.M. Programme.
