Taragwa Nyang'anyi was born in Mara Region, in Tanzania. He obtained his Law Degree at the University of Dar es Salaam School of Law (Tanzania) (2012-2016).
From the early beginning he developed a deep interest in trade law. In addition, he wrote his undergraduate dissertation on the international investment legal regime (treatment of foreign investors vis-à-vis local investors).
During his undergraduate studies he worked as an intern to the Jurisconsult Law Chamber, a law firm specialized in corporate and real estate litigation.
In 2015-2016 he was selected to participate in the ELSA Moot Court Competition in Rhodes University, South Africa, as Researcher, where the team won two Awards in the regional round: the best written submission (Complainant) and the ELSA Spirit Award.
It was in the ELSA Moot where his interest in international trade law led him to join the IELPO LL.M. studies. He hopes to expand his knowledge in the field of international economic law through the courses and the interaction with distinguished professors, as well as with his worldwide talented peers. His native language is Swahili, and he speaks fluent English.
