Kafuyai is an arbitrator at the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb). She is passionate about Alternative Dispute Resolution and international trade law. She holds an LLB at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture & Technology and has undergone various trainings with the National Democratic Institute (NDI) and World Youth Alliance (WYA) to increase the effectiveness of Kenyan democratic institutions.
Her significance in the Kenyan legal field has been felt through the well renowned law firms she has worked with and the various legal aid clinics she carries out that offer pro bono services to locals that neither have access to legal services nor have the monetary resources to afford such services. She is a partner in several nongovernmental organizations as a legal advisor and is an active member of the Kenyan civil society.
Kafuyai has worked with these organizations and advocated for public interest in matters of public policy making. She is the executive director of Living Beyond Cancer and Disability, a charitable organization that partners with other NGOs to raise funds to benefit cancer patients and persons with disabilities.
She is a member of the East African Law Students Association and has participated in the All Kenyan Moot Court Competition on Refugee law. This improved her mooting skills and led her to participate in the European Law Students Association (ELSA) Moot Court Competition on international trade law which successfully resulted to her being granted the IELPO LL.M. Programme scholarship.
She is fluent in English, Swahili and Luhya. She also has intermediate knowledge of Spanish, French and Sign Language (ASL). In her free time, Kafuyai enjoys: swimming, philanthropic activities, reading and working out.
