Sebastián was born in Cali, Colombia in 1990. He obtained his law degree from Universidad de los Andes in 2014. In 2012 he had an academic exchange at Université Panthéon-Assas where he took several international law classes.
His professional practice started with an internship at the Arbitration Center of the Bogota Chamber of Commerce. During his internship, he got the opportunity to attend and research about several national and international arbitrations while acquiring great experience in the private litigation area. Afterwards he worked for a leading boutique law firm with a strong commercial, international trade and corporate law practice. His work consisted of assisting international clients in several trade, litigation and corporate matters.
In 2014 he participated in the 12th edition of the ELSA Moot Court representing Universidad de los Andes, where his team won the prize for the Best Complainant Written Submission of the Latin American Regional Round in Washington D.C.
Recognizing his interest and skills in international economic law, Sebastian was awarded with one of the two full scholarships that Fundación Carolina provides in order to attend the IELPO.
