Martín was born in Guatemala in 1989, and graduated in 2015 from the Universidad Francisco Marroquín (Guatemala) obtaining a Law degree along with the degree of Public Notary, and a B.A. in Juridical Sciences. While studying, Martín managed to combine both practice and theory by working during his entire career as paralegal of two of the most prestigious law firms in Guatemala thus acquiring great experience in the Litigation, Administrative, Constitutional and Corporate areas.
His interest in International Trade Law was triggered by his outstanding participation, representing the Universidad Francisco Marroquín in the 11th Elsa Moot Court Competition on WTO Law, in which his team obtained the 3rd Place in the International Round, and won the prize for the Best Complainant Written Submission of the Latin American Regional Round in Costa Rica. In the following year he continued his training in WTO law by coaching the team of his University that qualified to the International Round of the 12th Elsa Moot Court Competition on WTO Law. Due to his great academic and professional performance, Martin was awarded with one of the two full scholarships that Fundación Carolina provides to young talented lawyers to attend the IELPO LL.M. Program.
He has joined the program determined to become an expert in International Economic Law, and has been looking forward to having an outstanding performance in order to develop his career in such area of Law.
