Suat was born in Ankara in 1987. In 2010, he graduated from Middle East Technical University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences with a bachelor’s degree in International Relations.
He has been working in the Republic of Turkey’s Ministry of Economy, Directorate General of EU Affairs as a foreign trade expert since 2011. He has worked in the Department of Single Market, Competition and Harmonization of Technical Legislation for 4 years. At this position, he has dealt with a wide range of subjects such as the functioning of the Customs Union between the European Union and Turkey, harmonization of technical legislation of the EU, the Common Trade Policy of the EU, free trade agreements (FTAs), World Trade Organization (WTO) Agreements principally Technical Barriers to Trade Agreement, trade policy instruments, environment, climate change and chemical policies of the EU specifically REACH and CLP Regulations.
So far, he had the chance to represent Turkey in various international platforms and joined several meetings in the EU and in other countries. He did an internship in the European Parliament. In the future, he will undertake a duty in one of the foreign missions of Turkey as a trade attaché with the objective of strengthening and deepening Turkey’s trade relations in international arena.
Within this context, he decided to take part in the IELPO LL.M. Programme to deepen his knowledge in international economic law and policy.
