Meltem was born in Istanbul, in 1991. After her high school education at Lycée Saint Joseph, which is a French high school in Istanbul, she earned her LL.B. in 2013 from Galatasaray University. In addition to this, she was part of an Erasmus Programme and continued her education for one semester at the University of Geneva’s Law Faculty. After graduation, she found the opportunity to work in several departments in a law firm in Istanbul such as litigation, contracts law and commercial law. She also assisted company partners especially on commercial law, contracts law and sports law practices regarding international clients due to her French and English language skills.
Alongside her educational and career background, she participated in the International Law and Diplomacy Club of Galatasaray University which allows participants to discuss European politics and the functioning of the European Union by cultivating their knowledge on the issue. She has also pursued her personal interest in sports while participating in the Sports Law & Management Certification Program in Kadir Has University. She is also a congress member of Galatasaray Sports Club since 2013.
Meltem considers that participating in the IELPO program represents the best manner in which she can develop herself in this international legal practice alongside with an economic perspective.
