Alexander Huitzi was born in San Sebastian, a city located in the Basque Country, a region located in the north of Spain. He was born in 1992.
He went to Law School at the University of Barcelona, where since the begging he showed interest on International Public Law. He discovered his passion for International Economic Law while participating in the ELSA Moot Court Competition, in the Regional Round held in Romania in 2013. Since them he started collaborating as assistant in the Coordination Team of the “Master of Laws in International Economic Law and Policy”, where he worked for two years.
He complemented his Law Studies with being part of the board of the Barcelonan local group of the European Law Students’ Association (ELSA). In 2015, he was elected as Vice-President for Academic Activities in ELSA Spain.
He attended the ELSA Summer Law School on Competition Law, organized by ELSA Deusto (Spain) in the summer of 2013 and the ELSA Summer Law School on WTO Law, organized by ELSA Cluj-Napoca (Romania) in the summer of 2014.
He also qualified to participate in the OIKOS Model on WTO Negotiations, organized by University of Saint-Gallen, held in Saint-Gallen and Geneva (Switzerland) in 2015.
He expects from IELPO to learn about different topics that he never had in Law School, such as Macroeconomics, International Finance, Investment Law… and to deepen in other topics where he already has some general knowledge.
Alexander’s mother tongue is Basque, but he is proficient in Spanish and fluent in English and Catalan.
