Ms. Abigail Alameda received her Juris Doctor from the University of the Philippines (UP) College of Law in 2012 and graduated with the Dean’s Medal for Academic Excellence. During her time in law school, she was inducted into the Order of the Purple Feather, the official honor society of the U.P. College of Law. She also worked as a research assistant and a Student Legal Practitioner of the UP Office of Legal Aid (UP-OLA) for her 4th year curriculum wherein she handled various labor, criminal and civil matters. Ms. Alameda obtained her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the College of Business Administration of the same university. She graduated cum laude and was a Dee C. Chuan Chinabank Scholar.
Ms. Alameda was admitted as a member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines in 2013. In the same year, she joined Siguion Reyna Montecillo & Ongsiako, one of the oldest continuously operating law firms in the Philippines since 1901. She handled various projects and cases ranging from labor, litigation, corporate, and immigration matters. She was also part of the firm’s team of legal advisers for an international company that brought a case before the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID). During her first year in the firm, she obtained a certificate for the One Year Course on Trust Operations and Investment Management offered by the Trust Institute of the Philippines (TIFP) at the Asian Institute of Management (AIM).
Ms. Alameda is interested in furthering her knowledge on international economic law, business and investments and its corresponding effects in developing countries.
