Zhanna Makarenko obtained her Bachelor Degree in International Relations from St. Petersburg State University in 2013. During her studies at the faculty of international relations, Zhanna completed an exchange semester at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. Zhanna also became part of several international conferences, inter alia, she volunteered at the 36th Session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee.
In 2013 Zhanna became a student of a Master´s program at St. Petersburg State University, majoring in International Trading System. During her first semester, Zhanna was doing an internship at the Russian-German Chamber of Commerce in St. Petersburg, contributing to the implementation of a number of projects concerning market research of Northwest Russia.
In 2014 Zhanna participated in the UNCTAD Virtual Institute study tour to Geneva-based international organizations, engaging in discussions of the lectures delivered by the officials of the UNCTAD, the WTO and the ACWL.
Before starting her IELPO LL.M. Program, Zhanna also took part in the University of Barcelona’s summer school on 'International Economic Law and Policy: Basic Elements'.
Being a native Russian speaker, Zhanna is fluent in English and has an intermediate level of German and basic level of French.
