Amelia Isabel Espinoza Tiffer was born in Managua, Nicaragua in 1989. She got her Law Degree with a mention in Economic Law in 2010 from Universidad Centroamericana UCA. During the course of her studies she made interships at the Legal Department of the Central Bank of Nicaragua and the Law Office of Universidad Centroamericana.
Since 2011 she worked at the Ministry of Development, Industry and Trade of Nicaragua as part of a Technical Interships program from IDB called “Foreign Trade Support Project” where she had the opportunity to participate in trade negotiations and in the aplication of Free Trade Agreements, specifically in Trade of Services and Investment. She also has been involved in the analysis of trade related law proposals.
Amelia’s profesional background brought her academic interest to IELPO since she considers it will improve and complement her training. Due to her academic merits and professional background she was awarded a Fundación Carolina Scholarship.
Amelia is a native Spanish speaker and is fluent in English, Portuguese and has basic knowledge of French.
