Ines Willemyns was born in Leuven, Belgium on 25 October 1991. After finishing high school in 2009, Ines enrolled at the Catholic University of Leuven (KU Leuven) to study law. After obtaining her Bachelors' Degree, Ines participated in the Erasmus Mundus programme and spent her first Masters' year in London, studying at Queen Mary University. In her second and last Masters' year, Ines participated in the ELSA MC2 WTO Moot Court, as part of the delegated team from her university, KU Leuven. This moot court competition sparked her interest for International Trade Law and led to her participation in the IELPO programme. She obtained her Master of Laws degree in July 2014 with Magna Cum Laude.
As of September 2015, Ines works as a doctoral researcher at the Centre for Global Governance Studies at the KU Leuven in Belgium. She will be writing her PhD on the regulatory coherence and domestic regulatory autonomy in the international services market.
Ines is a native Dutch speaker, is fluent in English and has good knowledge of French.
