Andrea Ornelas Maceiras was born in Mexico City in 1989. She graduated with honors and obtained her Law Degree at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) in March 2013, by presenting her thesis “Technical Barriers to Trade in Light of the Interpretations of the Appellate Body of the World Trade Organization”.
During her undergraduate studies, she participated in the 8th edition of the ELSA Moot Court Competition.
In 2012 she began working at a law firm dealing with international trade. Her practice focused on anti-dumping procedures. Since June 2013, she works as Associate Lawyer in a law firm dealing with international trade and antitrust matters.
Andrea wants to specialize in International Economic Law and considers that the IELPO program offers a high degree of specialization that will allow her to further develop her knowledge on the field.
Andrea is native speaker in Spanish and she is fluent in English.
