Chen Xu was born in Shenyang, China. She obtained both her Bachelor and Master’s Degrees at the Shanghai University of International Business and Economics. She studied Translation and Interpretation of English and Chinese as her major and Finance (International Banking) as minor for her undergraduate study. Upon completing her undergraduate studies, she pursued further studies in Linguistics English and did some projects, with her supervisor, concerning the translation of WTO documents and the follow-ups of the Doha Round. During her post-graduate studies, she was selected for an intensive and special training on trade at the School of WTO Research and Education.
Xu completed the 3rd National Summer School for the WTO-Oriented Postgraduates in China, and she worked as an intern in the Trade Policy Review Division of the World Trade Organization in Geneva, where she participated in drafting the TPR reports of China and Japan. Xu has worked as a translator in a foreign embassy to China in Beijing.
Xu wants to join IELPO program to broaden her horizon, to sharpen her interdisciplinary research ability, to get a better understanding of International Economics, International Law, and Government Policies, and to be better equipped for her future career.Xu is a native speaker of Chinese, fluent in English, and knows a bit Spanish and French
