Margherita De Leonardis, after her studies in High school, enrolled in a five-year Degree in Law at the State University of Milan and graduated in November 2011 with a thesis on International commercial contracts. Her thesis was based on many researches on primary sources, and due to its contents a copy of it is placed for consultation at the Library of the National and International Arbitration Chamber of Commerce of Milan.
Since the very beginning of her University studies, she demonstrated a strong interest for international law and international commerce and therefore chose the “International Curriculum”, focusing on the different legal systems, international trade, maritime law and international organizations.
During her University studies (in May 2009 and May 2010), she participated in a visit organized by the Catholic University of Milan to the NATO Headquarters in Brussels, thus attending various lectures given by members of this Organization.
After her graduation and prior to her departure to Barcelona to pursue the IELPO LL.M., she was working in a Law firm dealing with Italian and foreign companies.
Margherita decided to join the IELPO Programme because she wants to gain a profound knowledge of international economic law and international trade and she thinks that this experience will give her the international perspective that she is looking for, studying in a stimulating and multicultural environment. In this respect, Margherita is grateful for having been awarded a partial Scholarship by IELPO.
