Nataliya Kozachuk was born in Kyiv, Ukraine in 1990. She obtained B.A. Hons. International Law degree (2011) at National Taras Shevchenko University of Kyiv and is completing M.A. in International Private Law (2013). In order to deeper understand current issues of international law, Nataliya participated in different international conferences, summer schools, e.g. “Interconnection between the Rule of Law and Democracy: German, Ukrainian and European View”, Regensburg, Germany in 2009, “Law as Means of Conflict Prevention: European Language Charter as Basis for a Dialogue”, Giessen and Heidelberg, Germany in 2010.
International trade law became a sphere of her particular interest after Ukraine joined WTO in 2008. In 2011 Nataliya defended Hons. diploma thesis “Legal Regulation of Agricultural Subsidies in WTO law: Perspectives for Ukraine”. In 2012 she participated in ELSA WTO Moot Court Competition, where her team became a semi-finalist of a Regional Round in Maastricht and advanced to the Final Oral Round in Montpellier. During this tournament Nataliya discovered the world of open-ended world trade issues, which affect international relations, people’s lives and it is always immensely important that they be resolved.
Her first working experience was at Baker & McKenzie Kyiv office during Summer Internship program 2012. During the internship, Nataliya developed legal writing and negotiation skills, dealt with real cases and co-operated with accomplished lawyers of Banking & Finance and Real Estate practice groups.
To develop further, Nataliya needs profound knowledge of international economic law and its sub-spheres combined with economics, and IELPO is the best program in this field.
Nataliya is fluent in Ukrainian, English, and Russian and has an intermediate level of Spanish.
