Kerem Tuzlu is from Ankara, Turkey. In 2011, he graduated from Istanbul Technical University, Faculty of Management with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering. He also studies Master of Arts in Economic Development and Growth in Gazi University since 2015.

Kerem has been working in the Republic of Turkey’s Ministry of Economy as a foreign trade expert since 2012. He has worked in different departments in General Directorate of Incentives Implementation and Foreign Direct Investments. At these departments, he evaluated investment projects in the context of current incentives policy in Turkey in order to apply appropriate incentive instruments for eligible investment projects, which values from $200K to $300M. Being in charge of auditing companies, he has also found the chance to visit their investment plants and report the actualization of investment in terms of accounting, employment and utilization of investment goods. In this sense, he has been able to examine very closely how these sectors (specifically manufacturing and energy sectors) contribute to growth and foreign trade in his country.

In 2016, Kerem started to work as Representative of Ministry of Economy in Presidency of Turkey. His main duty was maintaining coordination between the two institutions and sustaining accurate and timely information inflow regarding foreign trade and investment issues.

In a near future, he will undertake a duty in one of the foreign missions of Turkey as a trade attaché with the objective of strengthening and deepening Turkey’s trade relations in international arena.

Within this context, he decided to take part in the IELPO LL.M. Programme to deepen his knowledge in International Economic Law and Policy.

Kerem speaks Turkish and English, and has a limited working proficiency in Spanish.
