Evgeniia Zhuravleva was born in Russia. She chose to concentrate on economics when she was at school and in 2007 she entered the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO-University) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, School of International Economic Relations. Evgeniia specialized mostly in international commercial and transport operations and logistics and in 2011 obtained a Bachelor of Commerce with Command of Foreign Languages degree from MGIMO.
In 2010 Evgeniia did an internship with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Department of Economic Cooperation, which gave her a profound understanding of modern diplomatic activity and cooperation between states in terms of their external economic relations.
During her university studies, Evgeniia actively participated in two innovative educational programs, dedicated to simulating multilateral negotiations on economic and political issues in the modern interdependent world. Evgeniia also devoted a lot of time to conducting research on the subject of GATT/WTO, regional integration, especially EU and NAFTA integration and organized a series of student round tables and panel discussions on these topics. Evgeniia took part in various scientific conferences on micro- and macroeconomics, in videoconferences between MGIMO and UNCTAD Virtual Institute and was one of the organizers of MGIMO economic club OECONOMICUS.
In April 2010 Evgeniia with a group of MGIMO students had a study-tour to Geneva-based international organizations (UNCTAD, WTO, ITC, WIPO), during which Evgeniia decided to become a professional in the field of international trade and regulation and showed a great academic interest in international trade law.
In 2011 Evgeniia’s team was the winner of KPMG (Russia and CIS branch) educational course called K-Foundation, which purpose was to equip the students with the in-depth knowledge of modern financial practices.
In order to fulfill her huge interest in international law and deepen the understating of international economic relations Evgeniia decided to join the IELPO LL.M. program 2011/2012.
